Weekly News Recap: "I rebooted this blog to say some of this stuff" Edition

Considering PAX Prime is happening next week, you would think that all the big news will happen next week. And while thats certainly possible, a massive story has been brewing all last week.
As Joystiq pointed out last Monday, a countdown appeared on the Square-Enix website, accompanied with a music track that has slowly transformed in a mish-mash remix of several notable songs from The World Ends With You, the smash-hit DS game detailing the Reapers Game, and Neku Sakuraba's attempt to win it, earning the right to return to the world of the living in the process. And while a brief slip-up revealed that an iOS port of the game is in the works, the lead translator took to Twitter, suggesting that there may be more than the DS's most stylish JRPG getting a re-release on Apples most stylish smartphone(or their only).

Stepping away from the wonderful world of video games for a moment(why would you want to leave for long, if not at all?), the 2012 season of Doctor Who is scheduled to air starting next Saturday, according to BBC America, and it's starting with a bang, with the first episode titled "Asylum of the Daleks". No idea whats going to happen, but there little doubt it will be awesome.

In less significant news, this weeks majors releases include Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the grandchild of venerable FPS Counter-Strike, TRansformers: Fall of Cybertron, which details the final days of the titular  homeworld of everyones favourite 80's robots, a HD port of JoJos Bizarre Adventure, a fighter based on the strange, manly anime/manga series, which, according to Joystiq(shut up, they're one of my biggest sources) lost quite a bit in the upscaling, and lastly, the PC port of last years rage-inducingly-hard RPG Dark Souls.

Thats all for this week. Stay tuned for this weeks Retro Review, and be back this time next week for the next Weekly News Recap.

...I hope this wasn't too much...
